It's a Process

Romans 12:2 says, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

Letting God transform your mind is no small thing. It requires ridding yourself of your own thoughts and taking every thought captive. Literally, it is surrendering every thought to Christ, and then taking on Christ’s thoughts as revealed in God’s Word.

It’s a process to know, understand, then do God’s will. Renewing your mind is not easy, but so worth it. With a renewed mind comes joy unspeakable and a life full of glory. Oh, the half has never yet been told!

We can’t do this on our own. We can ask the Father to renew our minds, so we may be transformed to do only His will, in His time, and in His way.

And there you go!

An Audacious, Amazing Inclusion

Matthew 6:13c says, “For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.”

What is God’s Kingdom? It is where He is the King and where His power and glory will remain forever. Remarkably, He asks us to be part of this eternal kingdom where we can partake in His power and glory. At the point of our salvation, we are given the power to overcome our enemy. We are also granted the ability, through the Holy Spirit, to give Him glory through acts of worship and voices of praise to Him.

Sometimes we forget to praise Him. We complain and grumble about our circumstances. The Lord’s Prayer ends by reminding us of the audacious, amazing inclusion God offers us in His kingdom.

To Him be the power and glory forever! Amen!

And there you go!

On Earth as it is in Heaven

Matthew 6:10b says, “…your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”

Wow! What if we prayed that phrase and really meant it the way Jesus did. God’s will being done on earth as it is in heaven.

In my mind - though I’m sure it’s far grander than I can imagine - here’s how heaven might be.

No pollution. No trash. Everything is perfect, complete with a magnificent landscape and water supply.

No money. Never having to worry or even think about bills, supplies, or expenses of any kind.

No sin. Oh, the glorious bliss of this! No unkind words. No tension of any kind. No killings. No selfishness. No crying. No death.

No darkness. Everything is bathed in light. For He is the Light. I will be fully known and understand Him fully as well. So, we’ll perfectly reflect His light.

On earth as it is in heaven. Even so, Lord Jesus, come.

And there you go.

Good Works! Seriously!

Have you ever made anything and been truly pleased and satisfied with your production? Don’t tune me out because you are not an artist…because neither am I. To my artist friends, however; my hat is off to you for your amazing works of art in painting or crafts.

I have made a few items, such as a decoupage doll and some ceramics, and I felt pretty good about making them. But my masterpieces often come in the form of pies or bread. When the meringue stands high and the rolls are deliciously baking and wafting their aroma, I am satisfied that I have accomplished something significant and of pleasure to others.

Ephesians 2:10 says, “We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.”

We are His masterpieces and He created us in Christ Jesus to do good works. How satisfying and what pleasure it must bring our Father when we do what we were prepared to do before He even set us on this earth! When we walk in deeds of love - doing good works - His beauty shows through us. His work of art bringing glory to Him!

May He use us as we were intended today. And there you go!
