Don’t get the carpet dirty; I just vacuumed! Don’t walk across the floor with your shoes on; I just mopped!
Don’t enter the presence of the Lord in an ungodly way--take your shoes off--you’re on holy ground!
I wonder sometimes if we are more concerned about a clean floor than we are about our casual attitude when we come into God’s presence. He says we are to come boldly before the throne of grace which is so true, but I don’t think that means without respect or without acknowledging who He is.
We must honestly tell Him who we are and that we want our dirt cleaned up--forgiven and hearts swept clean. Then we can praise Him with shoes off and clean feet so to speak.
Let’s go to Him today and take our shoes off--we are standing on Holy Ground! And there you go.
