When I don’t sleep I’m cranky; actually unkind might describe me better. I think my whole family just said AMEN! My mom used to say when I was too tired growing up, Valerie, you need to go to bed. It was true then, and it is still true today.
Recently when our new granddaughter Adali was born 5 weeks early, I watched her mommy and daddy go with little sleep for several weeks because Adali needed to eat every three hours so she would gain weight. Tim and Valissa handled it so beautifully and were a true witness of the love of Christ at the hospital especially. They were gracious and loving to all the nurses and visitors. Though tired, they taught grandma a valuable lesson I should have known from Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” That includes being kind and loving when I’m worn-out and stressed.
Hopefully, you too could use this lesson as He strengthens you in all you face today.
And there you go.
