Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind. Seriously!

How do I love thee, let me count the ways...Elizabeth Barrett Browning wrote in her famous poem. Would you and I be able to give an answer to this question about our love for God stating, at least the four ways mentioned in Luke 10:27? We love Him (#1) with all our heart, (#2) with all our soul, (#3) with all our strength, and (#4) with all our mind.

My heart, if not given over to God, can’t love Him like He deserves. My soul, when it’s not at rest, won’t love God either. My strength is weakness without God’s power to love as He requires. And my mind without renewal will betray my love for God if not bathed in Scripture.

You & I are undone then, save the fact that God can and must take over our hearts, our souls, our strength, and our minds.

As the old hymn says, “All to Jesus I surrender...heart, soul, strength & mind...all to Him I freely give! That’s when you & I will, in any regard, be able to love God as He deserves.

Let’s surrender together today as we obey the Lord’s command to love Him as He asks--heart, soul, strength, and mind!  And there you go!
